The 2019 Classic Channel Regatta
Pantaenius is proud to have the opportunity to support and sponsor the 2019 Classic Channel Regatta from June 29th – July 6th. This fantastic event brings together competitors of several nationalities and with more than 80 classic boats taking part you can expect to see a diverse range of boats of different rig, size and history but all with a shared passion to preserve and promote the heritage of classic yachting.
The regatta is a unique week long international event, with its own distinctive and varied blend of racing which includes racing round the cans at Dartmouth, passage racing across the Channel, and racing around an island in Brittany. It’s not just participants who can enjoy this event; classic boats in this number provide a spectacular and beautiful sight for any spectators ashore.
The Pantaenius support doesn’t stop at the regatta. We are also very proud to be able to support the regatta’s Classic Young Sailors Foundation. A charity set up by the regatta to provide financial support and encouragement to those young people who would not otherwise have the opportunity or funds needed to experience going to sea in classic and traditional boats. This years Classic Channel Regatta will be host to the Foundation’s first project as it financially supports a young crew of 8 school age children from a deprived area in Wolverhampton to participate in the regatta, sailing in the Island Trust’s replica Bristol Channel Pilot Cutter ‘Pegasus’.
