When Hurricane Odile recently slammed Mexico’s Baja Peninsula, Pantaenius worked round-the-clock to live up to our motto, “Always At Your Side.”
Not only were we successful at reaching the majority of our clients/brokers to confirm the location and condition of any vessels in Odile’s path, we were also able to get surveyors on the ground within 24 hours to assess any insured’s yachts affected by this hurricane.
Quick and competent claims handling is our highest priority—and our hallmark. But when threatening storms occur, we can’t provide you with stellar service if we can’t reach you!
In the aftermath of Odile, we found the emergency contact information for some clients and brokers to be outdated. In other instances, we were told that someone else was looking after the client’s vessel while the owners were at their home residency.
When a storm hits, we typically have inside information regarding predicted delays before telephone lines are working again, Internet services are restored, roads are cleared, and airports are reopened. We also have surveyors who live in affected areas who can more easily visit yards and marinas to check on our clients’ vessels.
Without your up-to-date emergency contact information, however, we can’t share valuable information with you, offer you reassurance that your yacht is safe, assess damage if your vessel has been affected by a storm, or expedite the handling of your claim.
To make sure we have your current emergency contact information, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org that includes:
• Your policy or customer number
• Your telephone numbers
• A current email address
• Vessel name and the precise location where the vessel is located so that a surveyor can locate the vessel in case you or the caretaker are not available or reachable in an emergency
• Contact information for a secondary emergency contact person if we are unable to reach you
