MURETTE becomes Pantaenius
Two companies steeped in tradition, one family and a shared vision: formerly known as Murette AG, the company now operates under the name Pantaenius Switzerland Ltd and is part of the Pantaenius Group.
For decades, both companies were shaped by two brothers who were passionate about sailing. Harald Baum took over Pantaenius in Hamburg in 1972, while his brother Hans-Peter Baum founded Murette AG in Bern in 1979. Since then, the name Baum has been synonymous with innovative insurance solutions for water sports, a high level of expertise in claims handling and a strong customer focus.
Today, the daughters and sons of Harald Baum and the son of Hans-Peter Baum are running the companies in the second generation. With the merger in 2025, they made a conscious decision to combine their experience and values under a common name. Murette AG has become Pantaenius Switzerland AG – with the aim of providing even stronger and more reliable support to customers in Switzerland in the long term.
Locally rooted, internationally connected
For existing customers, this step primarily means continuity. Their trusted contacts, local expertise and close relationships with associations and clubs will remain unchanged. At the same time, they will now benefit from the security, international expertise and resources of a global specialist in boat and yacht insurance.

With 12 branches in Europe and Australia and a global network of over 35,000 specialist water sports companies, the family-owned company, together with its own claims department, provides rapid and professional support in the event of a claim.
Today's Pantaenius Switzerland Ltd builds on over 40 years of experience in the Swiss market. It offers tailor-made solutions for boat, yacht and charter insurance and maintains long-standing partnerships with the Cruising Club of Switzerland (CCS), the Swiss Lock Skippers' Club (SSK/CSE) and schleusenverein.ch.
