In the vast expanse of UK waterways, a silent issue is on the rise - the fate of boats reaching the end of their useful lives. As a leading marine insurance provider, Pantaenius has observed the environmental challenges posed by the disposal of boats, particularly those constructed from fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP), commonly known as fibreglass or GRP. Sadly the impact of abandoned boats weighs heavily on the marine environment, along with the difficulties of disposal, and sustainable solutions need to be found.

Shaft-driven vessels make up the majority of medium-sized and larger motor yachts. If you want to carefully service and maintain your shaft drive, you first need to understand the parts that make it up.

We hear it far too often: “I had insurance and then the exact thing that happened to me was the thing that was not covered.” Or even if it is covered, the person had to contribute far more towards the cost than expected. Most of the time, these are however also the individuals that do not read the PDS when taking out a policy and assume everything is covered!
