It’s used primarily for safety and emergency purposes, ensuring that in the event of an incident, both rescue authorities and we as your insurer can provide quicker, more efficient assistance.
Here’s why providing your MMSI is so important:
Faster Assistance in Emergencies: If you're ever in distress, search and rescue services use your MMSI number to quickly access vital information about your vessel. This helps them respond faster to ensure you get the support you need.
Quicker Claims Processing: In the event of a claim, your MMSI helps us verify the details of your vessel’s movements. This means we can help you faster, making sure you get the assistance you need with minimal delays.
Enhanced Safety: If your vessel is equipped with an Automatic Identification System (AIS) or a Digital Selective Calling (DSC) radio, your MMSI helps transmit distress signals and location data, which can be lifesaving in an emergency.
